The app is a simple, easy to use solution in which the user is asked to rate there own stress levels through a series of questions. Based on these answers, the user is provided with a current stress level and steps they can take to improve this.
STREBLO was developed with The University of Wolverhampton alongside the Marie Curie Sklodowska Individual fellowships Project (IF). The content created by academic researchers; our point of contact was Silvia Riva who has been working on a European project about stress management and whose expertise lies in Cognitive Psychology.
The University of Wolverhampton is a large UK university based in the West Midlands, offering undergraduate degrees and postgraduate courses across four faculties.
The app which is available on both the Google Play store and the Apple App store for mobile phone devices provides user’s a solution to manage their stress levels. The content and solutions provided in the app were developed with academic researchers working as part of the Marie Curie Research Fellowship.
During our initial discussions the desire for a clean, easy to use interface regularly came up, with this in mind the app was developed with a neutral colour scheme to reflect the calming nature of the app. The app is easy to use and presents the user with ten questions on a range of topics, and the user scores themselves based on how they are feeling. In the end, the user is presented with a rating and steps to take to further improve in the future.
The app offers a range of steps including the importance of meaningful and mindful breathing techniques, the importance of open communication and the benefits of note taking.
The onus remains on the user to regularly return to the app and strive to improve there score.
With an extremely tight deadline, it was important for both parties to work swiftly to produce this mobile app. The content provided was presented in an easy to use format, which enabled us to complete the app to a short deadline. The finished product is easy to use, calming on the mind and provides the user with clear, actionable steps to take to improve their stress levels.
